Product Overview
Handle high-torque applications where wall thickness is a limiting factor with our Stub ACME (STACME) laydown threading inserts. Designed to the American Stub Acme standard (ANSI/ASME B1.8), these tools produce a 29° thread form with a reduced depth.
Unlike standard ACME threads, the “Stub” profile provides a stronger, coarser thread on components where a deep groove would weaken the part structure. These carbide threading inserts are essential for oilfield tubulars and heavy mechanical jacks.
Key Features & Benefits
- High Strength: The stub profile reduces the lever arm of the thread, making it less susceptible to shearing under heavy axial loads.
- The 16ER Standard: Our 16er threading inserts (3/8″ I.C.) cover the most common pitch range (16 TPI to 8 TPI), fitting standard tool holders.
- Heavy Duty U-Type: For extremely coarse pitches (4, 3, and 2 TPI), we offer massive U-Type inserts (up to 3/4″ I.C.) to ensure stability.
- Directional Options: We provide comprehensive solutions, including standard right-hand tools and specific left hand thread insert models (e.g., 22EL 5 STACME).
