03 / Selection Checklist

Four checks
before you order.

Start with the threading operation, current insert code and machine setup. A similar-looking pocket does not confirm that two inserts or holders are interchangeable.

Selection Questions

Before you order.

Provide the complete holder and insert codes where available. Photos and drawings help when replacing existing tooling.

How do I choose between internal and external holders?

Choose according to the location of the thread and the available tool access. For internal threading, confirm bore clearance and bar dimensions. For external threading, check the shank size and available machine space.

Will my current threading insert fit a new holder?

Confirm the complete insert designation, size, seat geometry and clamping arrangement against the exact holder model. Matching thread type alone is not sufficient.

How do I select the holder hand?

Review holder hand together with thread hand, tool position, spindle rotation and cutting direction. Include the current setup when asking for help.

Can I order spare screws, shims or clamping parts?

Provide the exact holder code and identify the part from the product page or a clear photo so availability and compatibility can be checked.
