Q1: What is the difference between MWLNR and MWLNL?
A: The difference is the hand direction. MWLNR is a Right-Hand tool holder (most common, cuts towards the chuck with CW rotation). MWLNL is the Left-Hand version. For example, if your turret requires left-hand tools, you would choose the MWLNL 2525.
Q2: Why is MWLNR considered more economical than MCLNR?
A: Both tools are excellent for roughing, but the MWLNR uses a WNMG insert which has 6 cutting edges. The MCLNR uses a CNMG insert which only has 4 edges. You get more parts per insert box with the MWLNR.
Q3: Can I use this holder for finishing?
A: Yes, provided you use a finishing grade WNMG insert. However, due to the large contact area of the insert, it is primarily designed for roughing and medium machining. For fine finishing, a V-style tool (like MVJNR) is often preferred.
