Unlike standard NPT, the NPTF profile is engineered with controlled crest and root heights to ensure an interference fit. This eliminates spiral leakage paths, allowing for pressure-tight joints without the need for sealants (Teflon tape or dope).
These carbide threading inserts feature a Full Profile design that cuts the thread groove, the specific NPTF truncation, and the 1:16 taper (1°47′) 6 in a single pass, ensuring strict compliance with ANSI B1.20.3 standards.
