Unlike the standard DIN 405 (which handles finer pitches), the DIN 20400 series is a heavy-duty 30° round thread primarily used in mining machinery and large valves where threads are subject to high impact or debris contamination.
These carbide threading inserts feature a “Full Profile” design that cuts the rounded groove and tops the rounded crest (R0.22104P / R0.23851P) in a single operation. This smooth, rounded geometry is easy to clean and highly resistant to damage compared to sharp V-threads.
