How to Read an RPMT Insert Designation

RPMT identifies a positive round indexable milling-insert family. The following size and suffix codes define the inscribed-circle diameter, thickness, edge treatment, hand and manufacturer-specific geometry.

Use the full designation when ordering. RPMT08T2, RPMT10T3, RPMT1204, RPMW and visually similar round inserts can have different thicknesses, mounting holes, chip-forming surfaces and cutter-pocket seating.
