Five Complete XOMX Insert Models

The XOMX family uses different cutter-pocket sizes. An XOMX0602 insert does not fit a Turbo 10, 12 or 18 pocket, and the attached R217.69 / R220.69 cutter references are limited to the Turbo 12 platform.

M05, M09, M12 and M14 are size-specific geometry codes. They are not carbide-grade names and should not be used alone to promise suitability for a workpiece material.

XOMX0602, XOMX10T3, XOMX1204 and XOMX1806 Specifications

Use the complete model, pocket size, thickness, fixing-hole diameter and corner radius together. The effective cutting-edge length is not the same as the maximum cutting depth of every cutter body.

Do not mix pocket sizes. The complete cutter-body designation must identify the same seat platform as the insert: 06, 10, 12 or 18.
Compatible Grade Framework

D530, D570 and D580 Grade Direction

These are compatible supplier-grade directions, not original Seco grade designations. Final availability must be confirmed for every complete XOMX model.

D530

Toughness-oriented direction for steel, interrupted shoulders and applications where edge security is the priority.

D570

Balanced direction for common steel and stainless-steel milling in stable to moderately interrupted conditions.

D580

Wear-resistance direction for stable square shoulder milling and selected cast-iron applications.

Coating color is not a grade specification. Select by the actual carbide-grade code, workpiece material, interruption and wear mode.

Two Cutting Edges per XOMX Insert

The XOMX Turbo platform is a single-sided design with two usable cutting edges. It should not be promoted as a double-sided four-edge insert.

Model-code discrepancy: the currently searchable standard 25 mm cylindrical-body reference is R217.69-2525.0-12-3AN with 25 mm shank, three teeth and 170 mm overall length. Do not silently convert the supplier’s 2524 / 2525 variants into that standard model.

Are XOMX inserts single-sided or double-sided?
The listed XOMX Turbo inserts are single-sided and provide two usable cutting edges.
Are XOMX0602, XOMX10T3, XOMX1204 and XOMX1806 interchangeable?
No. They use different pocket sizes, widths, thicknesses and fixing-hole diameters. Match the insert to the same cutter-seat platform.
What is the difference between XOMX060204R-M05 and XOMX060208R-M05?
Both use the Turbo 06 pocket. The 0204 model has a 0.4 mm corner radius and 0.9 mm wiper flat, while the 0208 model has a 0.8 mm radius and 0.5 mm wiper flat.
Which XOMX insert fits the attached R217.69 and R220.69 cutters?
The attachment codes contain the Turbo 12 seat designation, so the matching insert platform is XOMX1204, including XOMX120408TR-M12 after complete pocket verification.
Can XOMX cutters perform ramping, slotting or plunging?
Some Turbo-style cutter bodies support these operations, but the permitted angle and cutting data depend on the exact cutter model.
Are D530, D570 and D580 original Seco grades?
No. They are compatible supplier-grade directions used on this page. Original Seco products use their own grade designations.
